You may recall that about two weeks ago we had a TJR Sports Writer Search where I asked readers of this site to send in a column to see if they had what it took to be a writer. I'm glad to say that the search is over and with it we have found 19 new writers.

I realize that 19 new writers may seem like a lot, but we really only had a couple of part-time writers at this place and I want it to be much more than that as we go into our second year. We'll be able to cover a lot more sports now.

If you got an email from me last night (Wednesday) then you know you're already in. If you didn't get an email from me I'm sorry to say you didn't make it. I hope you're not discouraged and that you keep writing if it's something you want to do going forward. You never know when an opportunity may present itself at this site or anywhere on the internet. It's a big place after all.

Here are the names of the 19 writers that were picked. I'll let them introduce themselves and the sports they will focus on when their columns debut. For now here are the names.

Congrats to the 19 of you. Thank you for sample columns and we look forward to seeing more of you in the days, weeks, months and years ahead!

In the next day or two they will do a great job of introducing themselves in their first columns on the site and we will all start covering the sports we all love.

Follow me on Twitter @TJRSports (Facebook page coming soon) where we will share every column that appears on this site and do our best to grow this site into a destination for sports fans around the world.
